Dr. Michael Bourbonnais, DC is originally from western Canada. He attended college in Arizona on a baseball scholarship and later finished his undergraduate degrees at the University of Calgary in Canada. Having benefited from Chiropractic care since the age of fifteen, his decision to attend Chiropractic college was an easy one. He graduated from Palmer-West College of Chiropractic (Magna Cum Laude) in 1996. Dr. Bourbonnais has been in practice in Seattle for twelve years. He is a member of the International Chiropractic Association and the Washington State Chiropractic Association. He lives in the area with his wife Erica and sons Jack and Will.
Dr. Brett DeCou, DC BS is originally from Michigan where he attended Hillsdale College as a student athlete. After multiple injuries, Dr. Brett received chiropractic care which improved his health and led to more time on the track and less time with the athletic trainers. He then attended the University of Western States where he earned his doctorate of chiropractic degree and shortly after joined the Fremont Spine & Wellness team. He enjoys skiing, cyclocross racing, and spending time with his family. He currently lives in the Fremont neighborhood with his wife Jessica and two daughters Vera and Zoe.
Jessica Slimak, Office Manager/Financial Department Manager lives north of Seattle with her husband Sean and daughter Brodie. Jessica was introduced to chiropractic and Dr. Mike at the age of 16 after fracturing her back snowboarding. Still a snowboarder, and just active in general, Jessica loves how chiropractic helps people achieve overall health.
Grace Acosta, Chiropractic Assistant was born in the Philippines and moved to Washington at the age of 11. Grace was first introduced to chiropractic care after a car accident in 2004. Since then she’s been proactive in learning more about chiropractic care and keeping her body healthy. She joins Fremont Spine and Wellness with her experience in medical assisting and great knowledge of patient care. Grace enjoys snowboarding, cooking, and spending time with family and friends. She currently lives in Seattle with husband Ruben, and Chihuahuas Liggy and Foxy.

Brenna Morgan, LMP after graduating from the University of Iowa, she moved to Seattle to follow a love of the mountains, water and general freshness of the Northwest. A graduate of Brenneke School of Massage in Seattle, Brenna has been practicing massage for almost four years. She is certified through the state of Washington to practice Massage. Her profession background is based around a treatment-oriented massage including extensive experience with patients facing many challenges with acute as well as chronic symptoms and conditions. She also enjoys working with clients simply looking to relax and escape the stresses of daily life.
Suzanne Melby, LMP, has always had a passion for being a part of an environment that encourages effective treatment and overall wellness for her patients. After graduating from Ashmead College for her Massage Therapist Certification in 2003 and working at Gene Juarez Salons and Spas, it was a natural progression for her to join the Fremont Spine and Wellness team. Suzanne has extensive experience in acute and chronic conditions as well as the promotion of solitude and stress management. She incorporates relaxation along with therapeutic techniques to ensure the most beneficial and individualized treatment for each person. Suzanne currently resides in West Seattle and has a passion for Roller Derby.
Liz Barnes, LMP graduated from Indiana University in 2003, then began work as a doula and family support specialist by helping pregnant women through the process of labor and motherhood. After following her own journey into parenting, she found a passion for relieving physical pain and stress for others through the connecting art of bodywork. As a graduate of Cortiva Institute-Seattle, her goal is to create personalized massage that suits each clients needs, promoting balance and relaxation into one’s life. She currently resides in the Seattle area with her husband Dave and son Aedin.
